Objectives and competences:
The purpose of this course is to acquaint students with post-production of audio-video content. Students will learn the process from receiving material (in various media) to publish the final video. They will learn about different types of media, creating a working environment in the program for post-production, acquisition and transfer of recorded material, processing of content, preparation of the final product, exportation, release and storage of product. Great emphasis will be on learning about video editing tools on different platforms (Mac, Windows, Linux) and their practical use. They will learn about the differences between linear and nonlinear production and processing of audio for video. In the lab, students will learn about the use of editing programs for video and audio as well as about the basic techniques of post-production. Laboratory exercises are conducted in cooperation with production companies and Apple Regional Training Centre (RTC) and Apple Authorized Training Center for Education (AATCe).
Intended learning outcomes:
Understanding of video editing with an emphasis on non-linear editing, the importance of formats and codecs, understanding the order of production, Phi effect, the use of different tools, filters and effects. Different approaches to product finalization, according to the purpose of use, the choice of the final format and the video and audio codecs, storage and release of products. Understanding the basics of the organization of space and time in the NLE (Non Linear Editing - Non-linear editing).
Learning and teaching methods:
Lectures and practical demonstrations on computers with appropriate software and work in pairs and groups.
