Prerequisits:

  • Enrolment in 2. Year of undergraduate study – Technical quality

Content (Syllabus outline):

  • measurement methods
  • modelling of measurement processes
  • measurement instrumentation
  • basics of probability theory and information theory in measurement
  • computerized measurements
  • software in measurement processes

Objectives and competences:

  • increase awareness and knowledge regarding measurement methods and instrumentation
  • to get to know methods of modelling measurement processes
  • requirements regarding choice of measurement equipment in the relation with specific measurement problem
  • modern measurement instrumentation
  • detailed understanding of probability theory and information theory in measurement science
  • identify key parameters of quality assurance in industrial processes related to measurements
  • computer data acquisition, processing and presentation of measurements

Intended learning outcomes:

Knowledge and understanding: basic knowledge about measurement methods and instrumentation, understanding how modern measurement instrumentation has been made, basic technical quality items
