Enrolment in the postgraduate programme for obtaining the master degree in electrical engineering is open to students who have completed graduate studies in electrical engineering, computer and information science or physics (natural sciences, or the technical or mathematics-physics course), and who have an average mark of at least 7.5 from examinations and exercises in graduate studies, while also fulfilling the general conditions prescribed by Article 115 of the Statute of the University of Ljubljana.
In addition to the above-mentioned students, enrolment is also open to students of other disciplinary branches if they have fulfilled the general conditions prescribed by Article 115 of the Statute of the University of Ljubljana, have an average mark of at least 7.5 from the examinations and exercises in graduate studies, and have passed the special knowledge test, which is determined by the Faculty of Electrical Engineering. It depends on the type of university course the candidate had previously taken and on the professional field of his or her master studies.
Candidates who have completed university graduate studies in the abovementioned fields, but who have an average mark of less than 7.5 from examinations and exercises for graduate studies, may nevertheless enrol for postgraduate studies for obtaining the master’s degree if they have particularly distinguished themselves through research work, as proven by published articles or papers.
Applications for enrolment on the postgraduate course of studies for obtaining the master’s degree are dealt with by the Commission for research work, postgraduate and doctoral studies, which in accordance with the prescribed conditions approves the enrolment. For candidates from other courses of study the Commission prescribes supplementary examinations. Enrolment is approved only upon successful completion of these examinations.
The course of study for obtaining the degree of doctor of science in electrical engineering may be entered by candidates who have acquired the professional title of master of science from the previously mentioned courses of study and who have had the topic of their doctoral dissertation confirmed by the Senate of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, University of Ljubljana.
The study course for obtaining the degree of doctor of science in electrical engineering may also be entered by students of postgraduate studies for the title of master of science if they satisfy the prescribed conditions on scientific publications, if in their postgraduate studies they have achieved aboveaverage success, and if they have received from the Senate of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, University of Ljubljana, confirmation of the topic of their doctoral dissertation and the agreement of the mentor of studies for obtaining the doctor of science degree.
